Viewing / Editing Document Properties

Working with KnowledgeTree Client Tools for Windows > Using KnowledgeTree Explorer > Viewing / Editing Document Properties


This procedure displays and edits document properties on a currently selected document in KnowledgeTree Explorer.

 

Commercial Editions Only

 

Perform the following steps:

1.On your Windows computer, log in to KnowledgeTree Explorer.

 

2.In the KnowledgeTree Explorer interface, locate the relevant document; then, right click to display options.

 

3.To open the Document Properties dialog box, click Properties.

 

4.The following actions are available in the Document Properties dialog box.

change the document display name

change the document description

change the file name

view document properties

 

Note: The following information is displayed - file size, display name, status, permissions, file type, document type, last modified date, user responsible for last modification, author, description, document id, version, URLs to the KnowledgeTree server and to the location of the folder and file on the server.

Workflow

select a workflow

start a workflow

view the document's current workflow state

Transactions

view a transaction history for the currently selected document

Versions

view a content and metadata version history for the currently selected document

 

Custom Properties

view the document metadata (the document type and associated metadata)

 

Note: The Categorized, Alphabetic, and Property Pages buttons are a filtering mechanism that allows the user to change the sort order of fields that are displayed in the Properties section.

Note: Changing the document type removes stored metadata. The admin user defines displayed fields. To edit field values, select the field; then, tab to the right of the field where you can change the values.
