The KnowledgeTree Drop Box is a desktop tool for Windows that allows you to drag and drop documents and folders from the Windows desktop or from directories within Windows Explorer onto the KnowledgeTree Drop Box.

Documents uploaded via the Drop Box are uploaded to the users 'Dropped Documents' workspace in the KnowledgeTreeLive interface - the user workspace is a folder (viewable only by the logged in user) in the Dropped Documents folder, which is added to the Root folder of the KnowledgeTreeLive repository on first login of that user.

Document Metadata

By default, an XML file containing the following default metadata is uploaded with the document dropped into the Drop Box:

Author
Filename
Document type

Drop Box adds the document metadata to the document's Document Details page in the repository. If required, additional metadata may be added to the XML file.
