KnowledgeTree Hot Folders > Configuring KnowledgeTree Hot Folders
This procedure display and edits KnowledgeTree Hot Folders settings through the KnowledgeTree Hot Folders Settings Window.
This topic provides instruction for the following tasks:
| • | viewing/changing the KnowledgeTree Server URL |
| • | viewing / changing login details (user name and password) |
| • | testing the connection to the KnowledgeTree server |
| • | viewing / changing the location of processing folders (watchfolder, archivefolder, failurefolder) |
| • | selecting document processing mode (basic or advanced) |
| • | selecting the XML filename format for advanced mode |
Perform the following steps:
| • | view or change your login details, or set up a proxy? Click the Login Details tab; then, go to step 4. |
| • | view or change document processing settings? Click the Document Processing tab; then, go to step 5. |

| • | view or change the URL to KnowledgeTree? The existing URL is displayed in the URL field. Change the path to the server (on premise), or to your KnowledgeTreeLive domain as applicable. Click Test Connection to check that you can connect to the repository. |
| • | view or change the user name or password used to access KnowledgeTree? The user name and password may be changed directly in the User Name and Password fields. |
| • | set up a proxy? Select the Use Proxy check box; then, define the URL to the proxy server in the Address field, and define the port to use in the Port field. Define whether authentication is required when connecting to the proxy; and, if required, define a user name and password for the user. |
| • | test the connection to KnowledgeTree? Ensure that you have added the URL, user name, and password; then, click Test Connection. |

| • | view or change the location of the watchfolder? Click the Browse button adjacent to the Watch field. Browse to the existing folder or create a new folder. |
| • | view or change the location of the archivefolder? Click the Browse button adjacent to the Archive field. Browse to the existing folder or create a new folder. |
| • | view or change the location of the failurefolder? Click the Browse button adjacent to the Failure field. Browse to the existing folder or create a new folder. |
| • | use Basic mode document processing? Select the Basic radio button. |
| • | use Advanced mode document processing? Select the Advanced radio button; then, choose the XML Filename Format to use for document uploads - select either .ext.xml or .xml. |
| 6. | Click OK to save your changes; then, close the window. |
