This procedure creates new Microsoft® Office documents online, and displays and edits Microsoft® Office documents online, from within KnowledgeTree.
Note: KnowledgeTreeLive includes Zoho® Office integration, which allows online viewing and editing of your Microsoft Office documents that are stored in KnowledgeTree. This feature is not available in KnowledgeTree on-premise editions (Commercial or Community).
Note: This feature is provided through the Zoho plugin in KnowledgeTreeLive, and is enabled by default. You can disable the plugin through the Plugin Management interface in the Administration module. For instructions on this task, see the KnowledgeTree Administrator Manual.
Perform the following steps:
| 1. | Log in to KnowledgeTree, using your KnowledgeTreeLive account username and password. |
| 2. | Open Browse Documents; then, locate the folder where you want to create a new document online, or view or edit an existing document online. |

| 3. | Locate the document in the folder list. |
| • | create a document online? Click Create Document Online in the Actions on this folder menu. Zoho's online Writer Interface opens. Create the document; then, when you're done, save the document to add the new document to KnowledgeTree. |
| • | edit or view an existing document online? Click the Zoho view/edit icon . Go to step 5. |
Note: This action is only available for supported file types (DOC and XLS).
| 5. | A system message advises you that the selected document will be checked out for viewing and editing within a 3rd party application (Zoho). Click OK to open the document in the online Zoho Writer interface. |
| 6. | Your KnowledgeTree document is checked out. View and/or edit the document online within the Zoho Writer interface. You can use the Zoho Writer formatting tools to edit the document. |

| 7. | Saving your changes within the Zoho Writer interface creates a new version of the document in KnowledgeTree, and updates the document version history. When you're done, save your changes; then, click the Close icon to check the edited document back into KnowledgeTree. |
