Viewing / Deleting / Adding Permissions

This procedure Displays and Deletes existing permissions, and Adds custom permissions.

Note: Only custom permissions may be deleted.

Perform the following steps:

1.	Open DMS Administration; then click Security Management to open the Security Management page.

2.	Click Permissions to open the Existing permissions page.

3.	Do you want to...

•	add new, customized permissions? Go to step 4.

Note: Custom permissions are useful when you need to control access to the

organization's plugins.

•	view existing permissions? Scroll down to the bottom of the page to view a list of permissions configured for KnowledgeTree - both inbuilt and customized.

Note: KnowledgeTree's default permissions display at the top of this list, and cannot

be deleted. They are recognizable by their system name, 'ktcore'.

•	delete a permission in the list? Click the Delete icon for the relevant permission.

Note: Only custom permissions can be deleted.

4.	Add custom permissions:

4.1.	Define a name for the new permission type in the System Name field - e.g 'ktcustom.permissions.download_plugin'.

4.2.	Define a short name in the Display Name field - e.g. 'Download Plugin'.

4.3.	Click Create.

Note: The new permission type displays along with other permission types at the

bottom of the page.
